Robson's Canadian Championship
The start of his Show Career |
In October, 2006, although Robson was still very young we knew it would be a good experience for him to get his feet wet in the ring, so we entered him in two back to back weekends of shows. The outcome of this decision proved to be very exciting. |
The first weekend, having just turned 7 months old,
he surprised us by going Best of Winners for 3 points.
A few days later he went off to Edmonton for the Poodle Club of Canada Specialty, and once again we were in awe, as he won Winner’s Dog under Judge Bill Cunningham for another 4 points.
He traveled that night by plane and ferry to Port Alberni. The next day, after that long trip, I was overwhelming to get a phone call that not only had he taken Winners Dog for another 2 points, but he also went Best Puppy in Show.
I was very excited to travel over to Port Alberni the next day to see him finish his championship, going Best of Winners for 3 points.
Here Robson is seen with his half-sister Sophie (AM/CDN Ch. Carrington’s Just So You Know), herself being a multi Best in Show Winner.

My most heart-felt thanks to our friend and handler Terry Bernier,
who has now finished the 5th of our home-bred champions. |

We decided that Robson should be shown at PCA, so we sat him out to grow more coat, then our handler Terry Bernier entered him for just one day as a special, to get his feet wet again. I think we were both extremely excited when Robson obtained a Group 1st under Poodle Judge/Breeder Carole Graham.
At PCA in April of 2008, Robson was very well received, being one of the only dogs of colour to make the cut. |
Terry Bernier's presentation of Robson was breathtaking.
One person in particular that was very taken with Robson was Philip Langdon of Atastar Poodles in England. Philip suggested I have Robson shown in Europe, so myself and Dianne Hopper traveled to Amsterdam for Philip to show him. Robson won the breed, received two CC's, and qualified for Crufts. Philip has become an extremely wonderful friend and I am so grateful for his knowledge and support.

ROBSON IN 2012 |
2012 was a very exciting year for Robson. Upon urging from my poodle family, I grew Robson back into pattern, and he went out with our handler Terry Bernier for a very limited specials career, showing only a few weekends. After multiple group placements, he finished the year at #7 Standard Poodle in the country. Here are a few random shots of his adventure...... |

As our handler Terry Bernier wrote after posting this picture
"Robson retired yesterday. Thank you Natalie Lasanen for giving me the privilege
to show such a beautiful representative of our breed and the apricot color. Love this dog!"
